Job Description

One of our client in UK is a leading IT organization seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior MySQL Developer to join our dynamic team.

As a Senior MySQL Developer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our high-traffic databases, ensuring their performance, reliability, and scalability. You will work closely with our payments client to design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

In this role, you will be responsible for MySQL replication, clustering, and partitioning, as well as designing and optimizing complex database schemas.

You will leverage your extensive knowledge of MySQL 5.x/8.x versions to ensure our databases are running at peak performance. Your expertise in database architecture, schema design, normalization, and indexing will be essential in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our data systems.

You will also be tasked with query optimization, using profiling tools and execution plans to enhance database performance. Your ability to write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers will be critical in supporting our application development teams.

Additionally, you will bring your knowledge of ORM frameworks such as Hibernate and Doctrine to integrate seamlessly with our MySQL databases.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies, data replication, and disaster recovery plans. Your experience with cloud platforms like AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Database will be invaluable in managing our cloud-based database solutions.

Familiarity with DevOps practices for database operations, including CI/CD, will be a significant advantage in this role.

In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and project managers.

Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders will be crucial in ensuring the success of our database initiatives. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow their skills and advance their careers.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team. You should have a strong problem-solving mindset and be able to troubleshoot and resolve database issues quickly and efficiently.

Skills Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a MySQL Developer.

• Expertise in MySQL replication, clustering, and partitioning.

• Proficient in designing and optimizing complex, high-traffic  databases.

• In-depth knowledge of MySQL 5.x/8.x versions.

• Hands-on experience with database architecture, schema design, normalization, and indexing.

• Also you must have hands-on experience with MySQL Workbench, Percona, or other database management tools.

• Strong skills in query optimization, profiling tools, and execution plans.

• Proficient in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.

• Knowledge of ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, Doctrine) with MySQL.

• Experience in backup and recovery strategies, data replication, and disaster recovery.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Database.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices for database operations (CI/CD).
