Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our independent small animal practice. This role is ideal for a professional who is confident in both consultations and surgical procedures and thrives in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine consultations, examinations, and diagnostics
Perform surgical procedures, including soft tissue and routine surgeries
Provide high-quality medical care and treatment plans for patients
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering guidance on pet health and preventative care
Collaborate with a close-knit team of veterinarians, RVNs, and support staff
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Uphold the practice's high standards of care and RCVS accreditation

Requirements:

Degree in Veterinary Medicine (MRCVS or eligible for RCVS registration)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in small animal practice (preferred)
Confident in performing consultations and routine surgical procedures independently
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
Commitment to continuous professional development

Working Hours:

Full-time: 35 hours per week
4-day work week: Two long days, two short days, and a fixed weekday off
1:2 Saturday mornings: (8:30 am – 12:30 pm)
No out-of-hours (OOH) work
